Here's a quick one for Freshly Made Sketches: sketch #41....
Card base is Poppy Parade, label under flower image is Coral Calypso. Edges are sponged with Soft Suede. Ribbon is Pool Party Seam Binding.
Sorry for the poor picture quality. I had to take it right quick with my phone.
Hope you like.

Fathers, Men, Tough Guys...

 Father's Day is coming up...
-My husband is not only a wonderful father, but a beyond-awesome husband!

And Graduations...
-I sent this to my brother! He just graduated from a Motorcycle Mechanics school this week!

And people moving...
-well, my brothers, to be exact. Both of them!

I loved making this card! I've been wanting this stamp set for a while, since I already had the coordinating paper, so I made this card the day it came! LOVE it!
Hope you're inspired to celebrate the men in your life!

Bright and Cheery Hello

This card is so sweet and cheery!
Card base is Concord Crush, layered with Naturals White, followed by the little squares of DSP and middle panel of Daffodil Delight Textured CS. This is the first time I've cut apart a sentiment, and I love the effect.

Top Left we have a couple swirls of Pear Pizzaz DSP behind a flower of Daffodil and Concord.
Bottom Left is two pieces of In Color Ribbon, folded in half and stapled to the DSP.

Top Right is a Concord DSP Daisy with a knot of Pear Seam Binding for the center.
Bottom Right is a Concord DSP butterfly with White Baker's Twine as the body.

Since there isn't much stamping on the card, I inked the solid Butterfly stamp with Concord, kissed it to the Dot Dot Dot stamp, and stamped the Butterfly on the envelope and the Dot Dot Dot on the inside of the card!
Hope you like it!

Spring Any Occasion

This card is great for any occasion.
Perfect Plum card base, White layer embossed with the stripes EF, a couple flowers, white satin ribbon and the little leaves.
Very simple!

Spring Birthday

I used the faux-suede technique for the center flowers. (I just looked on SplitCoastStampers and can't find it to link it for you...) So basically it's distressing the paper until the card stock starts to separate. --I use my bone folder and distress it on one side, then turn it over and do the other side. You're sure to have it falling apart by then!-- Carefully pull them apart and layer for a soft, suede look!
Still figuring out my new camera... can you tell?

Inspiration explosion!

A couple weeks ago, I scheduled a stamp night for some friends. One of them needed a birthday card for a 1 year old, so this is what I came up with.
This is the inspiration for the following:

One of my attendees wanted to use the turtle, which doesn't fit inside my smaller square punch, so we added circles behind them instead! Of course then they didn't fit across the card in a line, so she staggered them!

And I hadn't used this Hostess set in a while, so I also made this card.
Thanks for looking!

Teacher's Appreciation Week

A quick post to show you what I did for Teacher's Appreciation Week, earlier this month.

Day 1: Crocheted Scrubbie
(This isn't the picture of the ones I made, but same pattern.)

Day 2: Crocheted Washcloth
(Again, not exact ones, but close enough.)

Day 3: Oven Mitts
Tutorial by skiptomylou HERE
I'm going to make some for us next. We are sadly in need of new ones.
Check out the lining! So cute, easy and fun to make!

Day 4: Stamps
I gave two to each teacher.

Day 5: Plants!
The little signs say "Thank you for helping me grow!" (I looked but can't find the website I printed them off of.. but Pinterest is full of them!)
